In 2011, Get Cooking began as a small culinary school in Kathryn’s home kitchen. Renovating her kitchen to centre around a chef’s table, she wanted the school to be a low pressure, encouraging environment where you would learn, cook, eat, and socialize. After three years working in her home, she relocated the business to its commercial location on the MacEwan University Campus, a stone’s throw from the new Ice District.
A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu London and of Leiths School of Food & Wine, Kathryn has lived in England, Scandinavia, and the United Sates, as well as in Ontario and Alberta. Her love of cooking continues to inspire her travels around the globe experiencing and exploring its diverse culinary traditions.
Kathryn’s cooking classes draw on her passion for the world’s culinary traditions and from her commitment to supporting local producers and suppliers with the use of fresh, local, and artisanal ingredients.
At Get Cooking, Kathryn combines her culinary experience with her commitment to uncomplicated, approachable cooking. With some basic cooking skills and a good local knowledge of where to source the right ingredients, anyone can bring flavours from around the world into their own kitchens.
